Z.ai says FlashX runs at up to 200 tokens a second. In our tests on Zurelay it wrote about 85 to 90 a second, twice GLM-5.3 Flash's pace.

Overview
GLM-5.3 FlashX is Z.ai's high-speed version of GLM-5.3 Flash, its low-cost GLM for coding and agents. Z.ai says it runs at up to 200 tokens a second. The Zurelay GLM-5.3 FlashX API serves it through one OpenAI-compatible endpoint with a 1M-token context window, at 68% below Z.ai's list price.
GLM-5.3 FlashX is the fast way to run GLM-5.3 Flash. Z.ai lists it on GLM-5.3 Flash's own page as the version delivering inference speeds of up to 200 tokens a second. In our tests on Zurelay it wrote about 85 to 90 tokens a second, about twice as fast as GLM-5.3 Flash. On Zurelay the model ID is glm-5.3-flashx, and it costs $0.12 per 1M input tokens and $0.40 per 1M output tokens.
It shares GLM-5.3 Flash's model: 320B total parameters with 18B active per token, hybrid sparse and linear attention, and a 1M-token context window with up to 128K output tokens per request. Z.ai built it for coding and agent work: long tool-calling runs, frontend and game code, and office and research workflows.
Reasoning is always on. Z.ai's API takes a reasoning_effort of low, high or max, with max as the default and the setting Z.ai recommends, and thinking can't be switched off. The model supports function calling, structured JSON output, streaming and context caching. On Zurelay it reads text and images; PDFs and video aren't supported yet.
FlashX costs more per token than GLM-5.3 Flash, so the choice comes down to speed. Use FlashX when a person is waiting on the answer, in chat, voice or interactive agents, and GLM-5.3 Flash for background jobs, where the lower price matters more. You pay $0.12 per 1M input tokens and $0.40 per 1M output tokens, against Z.ai's list price of $0.37 and $1.25, with cached input at $0.024.
Strengths
Z.ai says FlashX runs at up to 200 tokens a second. In our tests on Zurelay it wrote about 85 to 90 a second, twice GLM-5.3 Flash's pace.
The same 320B-parameter model with 18B active per token, which Z.ai reports ahead of GLM-5.2 on all six of its coding and agent benchmarks.
Send screenshots, diagrams and photos as https links or base64 data URLs alongside your text.
A 1M-token window and up to 128K output tokens per request, with hybrid attention that keeps long prompts cheap to serve.
Use cases
Tool-calling loops where every step waits on the model, so twice the speed cuts the time a task takes.
Answers that stream fast enough to read as they arrive, at a fraction of a frontier model's price.
Edits, explanations and code generation in an editor or terminal, where a slow model breaks your flow.
Read interfaces and rendered pages from screenshots and write the frontend code to match.

GPT-6 Luna APIGLM-5.3 FlashX costs $0.12 per 1M input tokens and $0.40 per 1M output tokens on Zurelay, with cached input at $0.024. Z.ai's list price is $0.37 input and $1.25 output, so you save 68%. One rate applies at every prompt length.
Speed and price. FlashX is Z.ai's high-speed way to run GLM-5.3 Flash: Z.ai says up to 200 tokens a second, and in our tests on Zurelay it wrote about twice as fast as GLM-5.3 Flash. Both have a 1M-token context, 128K output and always-on reasoning. FlashX costs more per token, so use it when someone is waiting on the answer.
Install the official OpenAI SDK, set the base URL to https://api.zurelay.com/v1 and use your Zurelay API key. Then pass model "glm-5.3-flashx" to chat.completions.create. Z.ai recommends temperature 1, top_p 0.95 and a reasoning_effort of max; use low when speed matters most.
GLM-5.3 FlashX has a 1M-token context window and writes up to 128K output tokens per request. On Zurelay it takes text and images and returns text.
Images, yes: send them as https links or base64 data URLs in image_url parts. PDFs and video aren't supported on Zurelay yet, and a request that includes one is turned away with a clear error before anything is billed.
No. Z.ai's GLM-5.3 models always think before they answer. Set reasoning_effort to low for the quickest answers; a request for none runs at low.
Yes. Set stream: true to receive tokens as they are generated, and add stream_options.include_usage to get token counts in the final chunk. You can give each Zurelay API key its own monthly budget and requests-per-minute cap. Failed requests are retried on another route and never billed.
Yes. Requests go to glm-5.3-flashx itself, at its own speed. Zurelay doesn't swap in a slower or substitute model. Only smart routing, which you turn on yourself, can answer with GLM-5.3 Flash when FlashX is down, and the x-zurelay-model header names the model that answered. Output is sampled, so wording varies from run to run, just as it does on Z.ai's own API. Zurelay is an independent service and is not affiliated with Z.ai.
Create a key in seconds, point the SDK you already use at Zurelay, and every request costs up to 90% less from the first token.
